Fold-away Baseboards

Your railway dreams brought to life!

Be up and running in minutes, yet make your model railway a ‘moveable feast’ with a fold-away, portable Classic Baseboard.  Whether a single piece, fold-in-half, or multi-sectional, each portable baseboard is made to fit your space – and even your car!  Protective edging enables track and low-level scenery to be housed when the folding boards are closed.  Boards can be made to any configuration, for any gauge, and wiring can neatly be hidden beneath.

At Classic Baseboards, we make fold-away, portable and eminently storable baseboards for collectors of Hornby and similar model railways. From O Gauge to N Gauge, modern or collectable, our baseboards are constructed to rest on your table, or on trestles (which we can supply at cost). Folding down to an average 7inch (178mm) width when closed, they’re ideal for taking to visit the family, to local railway fairs and groups, or for storing behind the settee or in the garage or spare room.

 

Easily-handled, easy to store
Our most popular baseboards are the easily-handled fold-in-half design, made to measure.  They store well and track can be joined across the fold, meaning you can be up and running swiftly.   We undertake complex projects too, from double-decker boards with rising ramps to large-scale railway club test- track boards.
